Accessibility

This site endeavours to fulfill the World Wide Web Consortium's standards and guidelines on accessibility to as high a standard as possible.

As you use this site, you'll see that it has lots of accessibility features - this Site Map is one of them. All our photos are captioned with "alt" text, all of our fonts scale nicely, and the pages devolve to plain text really nicely. We've also totally avoided the use of tables for layout purposes, and there's no information presented in a picture that's not provided elsewhere as text.

Further than that, we've implemented AccessKeys, keyboard shortcuts for all of the navigation features in the site.

AccessKeys for the site menu:

1 - the Home page.

2 - the Studio page.

3 - the Contact Me page.

4 - the Rights page.

5 - the Resources page.

6 - the Site Map page.

AccessKeys for the "Music" section:

a - song 1 in the "Music" section.

b - song 2 in the "Music" section.

c - song 3 in the "Music" section.

d - if there are more than 3 songs in the "Music" section, this key will load a page listing all ofthe available songs.

AccessKeys for the "Archive" section:

7 - the "Picture This!" band page.

8 - the "Amelia's Nightmare" band page.

9 - the 8-track recordings page.

AccessKeys for recommended software:

v - the "Get Firefox" link.

w - the "Get Thunderbird" link.

AccessKeys for validation tools:

x - the HTML validation link.

y - the CSS validation link.

z - the AAA accessibility link.

The above options cover all of the basic navigation elements on the page. There are just 4 more AccessKeys, all of which are specific to the "Contact Us" page:

n - puts the cursor into the "Name" text field.

e - puts the cursor into the "Email Address" text field.

m - puts the cursor into the "Message" text field.

s - triggers the "Send" button.

To use AccessKeys, simply hold down the "Alt" key on your keyboard, then press the appropriate AccessKey.
