Blown Away
Meet Gemma T. Gemma's another of the motley crew of climbing buddies that I hang out with on a fairly regular basis. And, as it happens, Gemma is a quite stunningly good singer/songwriter.
This piece of work came about while I was over at Hangar 18, working on "Escape Velocity". Phil asked if I'd heard Gemma sing, and played me the vocal/piano arrangement of this song.
Cut a long story short, I took the vocal track and re-orchestrated/recorded/mixed/mastered the tune. Despite being in exactly the same key, time signature and tempo, the re-mix has a really different feel to it. I play everything on this, even the kit.
I'm enormously pleased with this track, and when Tim (the original pianist) heard it, he suggested that we get together and collaborate - hence the new band.
